Product segments
Chicken consumption has steadily risen in the past ten years. Scandi Standard has benefited from our incessant development in the Ready-to-cook and Ready-to-eat segments and the rise of new by-products. We aim always to use the entire chicken. Initiatives such as better processing for deboning chicken or processing of charcuterie products have made us more efficient and thus more sustainable.
Ready-to-cook (RTC)
Chicken products that require cooking or further preparation before eating are dominated by deboned and pre-sliced chicken. Ready-to-cook is Scandi Standard’s biggest product segment.

Ready-to-eat (RTE)
Chicken products that are prepared and ready to be consumed directly or after being lightly heated up. Products range from grilled and pre-sliced chicken fillets to chicken nuggets.

Other by-products
Chicken products that are mainly intended for purposes other than human consumption, such as feathers, offcuts, and offal, and are used in animal feed and biofuel production.

The full potential of chicken
Some of the by-products can also be used for Ready-to-eat products. For example, machines can now use all the meat from the bones, resulting in meat in smaller pieces suitable for, among other things, chicken sausages.
Scandi Standard is working proactively to create better and more inexpensive alternatives to traditional meat products, to make quality protein accessible to more people – and to make production more sustainable.
Approximately 76% of our net sales come from the ready-to-cook segment and 20% from the ready-to-eat segment. The remaining 4% comes from our promising investment in developing by-products.
