World Food Safety Day at Scandi
The second World Food Safety Day (WFSD) was held in early June. As a food producer, with food safety as one of our cornerstones, we, of course, took the chance to be a part of this initiative and celebrate the day at all our sites as part of our sustainability work.
All the sites at Scandi Standard acknowledged the day with events like quizzes and different kinds of information about food safety, such as traceability, hygiene rules and temperature on products.
At the Danish site Rokkedahl, the day was also celebrated with the participation of the Danish Food Authority, who were very impressed by the event.
– Food safety is a very important part of Scandis’ quality work. And even though we have it in our minds every day and work with the issue constantly, a day like this allows us to highlight the topic and emphasize the importance of food safety. This creates both community and value around an important issue, which we all need to be involved in, says Heidi Rosenbjerg Bretthauer, Group Quality Director.
All sites did, of course, consider the Covid-19 issue and managed the day according to region-specific regulations and guidelines.
This is World Food Safety Day:
The day is celebrated to draw attention and inspire action to help prevent, detect and manage foodborne risks, contributing to food security, human health, economic prosperity, agriculture, market access, tourism and sustainable development.
The day has arisen in a collaboration between WHO, the United Nations and the 17 world goals, and the aim is to focus on food safety.
