Kronfågel and Max launch new retail initiative

September 10, 2014

Scandi Standard has entered into an innovative partnership with Swedish hamburger chain Max, with the support of Kronfågel. A new range of Swedish chicken burgers and chicken nuggets is now available in the frozen food aisles of Swedish food stores.

The increasing popularity of chicken based products and the growing presence of restaurant branded meals on food store shelves are the drivers behind these products. Scandi Standard aims to build on these trends with an innovative partnership between Kronfågel and Max.

The products and recipes contain chicken breast and chicken thighs, and have been produced by the development group at Max in association with Kronfågel. Kronfågel also supplies these chicken products to Max restaurants.

Strong brands the key to success

“Max and Kronfågel are two strong Swedish brands that stand for high quality, good taste and Swedish sourced ingredients. Our partnership means we can now offer consumers smart, easy to prepare meals that taste as good as they do at Max restaurants. There couldn’t be a better time to launch these products in store,” says Annicka Hultin, Product Manager at Kronfågel.

“Our chicken products have always been popular, which makes it particularly satisfying to offer our customers the opportunity to buy our chicken burgers and nuggets to prepare at home. I have had a personal hand in this product development, where taste, quality and fine Swedish ingredients were the key factors for us at every stage,” says Christoffer Bergfors, vice CEO at Max.

Thumbs up for the products
Every Swedish food retailing chain is stocking the new “Kycklingnuggets”, “Crispy kycklingburgare” and “Delifresh Kycklingburgare” products. Sweden’s leading food magazine “Allt om mat”, with over half a million readers, conducted a taste test for Kronfågel’s Max products. The chicken nuggets scored the top rating of 5, while the other two products were given a 4.
